The formula will still work, and it makes it easier to troubleshoot real-time. In fact, you can also do this in the formulaīar itself by expanding the height of the formula bar row, and using Alt-Enter where you want to break the lines.
I generally only revert to VBA to create UDFs if I can't achieve the result in oneĬell and can't add helper cells or columns. UDFs make the worksheet cleaner, but harder for my non-VBA co-workers to troubleshoot or change.įor troubleshooting specific formulas, I sometimes find it easier to paste the formula into Word, and use hard returns to separate it out so that each nested statement is broken out (and indented) for review. I don't have any issues with using multiple nested IF statements (you might want to post a sample of your IF statement so others can see if there are basic syntax errors). If else in javascript is nested conditional block of our code easier on some values or off.
